update on Wendy

She is on Gardner Ward, 2nd floor.

Wendy

For anyone who doesn't know, Wendy was taken to hospital last night. She has had it confirmed that she has gall stones and that her gall bladder is infected. I have seen her briefly tonight and her pain is now relieved with morphine. She will be in conquest for 3 -7 days, I guess until they stop the infection. Then she will be given her options at a later date.

I have told her that we are all thinking of her and that when she is out of hospital - she need only ask for assistance and one of us will be there. As I am not currently working I am happy to meet any of her needs. I am sure we all wish her well and soon home.

Hope you all enjoyed last night, and got home safe and sound and was up bright and early this morning for work.
I thought the food was really good. I'm sorry to say there was no change from your £10 there was a service change at end of bill,
Next week will be Jane and Chelsea’s last week before Christmas so let’s hope secret Santa will drop on early for them.
On the 22nd we will have our own party, so gets those silly hats out, I think we all know what food we are all bringing, and I hope Sylvia is well enough to make her sausage rolls.

So bring your cameras and we are sure to have a good time.

Thanks Jenny for last night I know I had a great time going through all you stock and buying lots for me and the club. And also for the food which was so nicely prepared by Pete, he must have worked hard.
The bag I took home for the club was quite heavy we might need another cupboard now.
So Thanks again Jenny and Peter for the crafing bits, good food and lovely company.

Tuesday night is Bowling night.

Lane is booked for 7.30, and don't forget your cameras as I dare say it will be one of our good nights out. I might even have a prize for the best bowler. Oh yes scoring is my job.

Christmas Meal

Black Pearl Old Town Hasting is our venue for the christmas meal on 8th Dec. All booked so now all you have to do is turn up and enjoy your meal.
Rox, Rose and myself went there on saturday for a light lunch and was very impressed with the place so we hope ypu will like it.

Tuesday 21/10/09

Hi everyone,

Those of us that were able to go to Wendy's candle party last night had a great time, although I think we all spent more than we had intended!

There was plenty of nice food, most of which was 'slimming world' safe, Sylvia (Mum) made lovely SW Cheescake (which went down a treat according to all) and sw tea loaf and Jenny sent one of her yummy fruit cakes even though she was unwell. Thanks Jen we all loved it.

Cathy, Jenny and Annette are all suffering with viruses/colds so we wish them better soon (although it did mean we got to take home excess cake etc. yum!).

Anyway thanks to Wendy for her hospitality it was a good night.

By the way Sylvia loved her Kan Ban stuff we gave her for her birthday and we were able to get Wendy something she wanted from the candle party so she was delighted too.

We need to get our thinking caps on for what to do next month's 3rd Tuesday and to settle where we are going for our Xmas bash.

Do you remember Andera who came along to the saturdays crop well I have just read on her facebook page she is now a mummy, baby couldn't wait so came 11 weeks early they have called her Amy.

First day and it's brilliant, just to let you know porthole is big enough to get out off.
Off to Tunis tomorrow looking forward to this.

Well I now have to take back everything I said about Cliff, I couldn't beleive that a man of sixty plus could pull in the crowd as he did. Cliff and the Shadows were brilliant. Wendy text me to say I would have a great time and I did.

Sorry I have been out

Sorry I have been looking at uni's for the past two days. I have sat in maths and computor classes and everything they spoke about went over my head at least I didn't fall asleep.
Found a Hobycraft shop in Nottingham but it was shut so I didn't even get a look that.
I have just remember I must not go crafting on Tuesday this week.
I will now go and have a look at Tim Holtz page.

What a great night last night! The atmosphere was lovely and we think this should be one of our regular, annual events. Next year is Dirty Dancing apparently so will look forward to that. Thanks everyone for a great night out.

Our First Night at WRVS

Well girls I think you will all agree we have a lovely new venue - thanks to Cathy!!!! Although we were a few short tonight I think the atmosphere was great and wasn't it lovely to have so much space and light! Now we have more cupboard space we can relieve Annette of some of our stuff and many thanks to Jenny for lending us her stamps, punches etc.

Wendy and Jenny were very industrious tonight with their new Christmas card kit (I am sure we were all very jealous).

Thanks to you all for your get well wishes for Mum and I look forward to seeing you all next week.

Anne send our love to Sylvia and wish her a speedy recovery.

Cupboards in situ at the WRVS

Hi everyone

Cathy, Annette and myself moved our cupboards to the new venue tonight (with the muscle of Tony and Chris (my son)). We are hoping to move stuff from Annette's to the cupboards soon. So we are all ready and set up for the new venue! Annette saw it for the first time today and she was impressed so I think we will all be very happy there.

I should also let you all know that Mum (Sylvia) was rushed to hospital yesterday, after visiting the GP he ordered an ambulance to take her straight to hospital. They suspected a cardiac problem but that has now been ruled out and they now think she has a infection and are doing lots of blood cultures to ascertain the type of infection so they can treat it with anti- bots. She looks a lot better today than she did yesterday so hopefully they can sort out what's wrong and get her on the mend soon.

Looking forward to seeing you all at the WRVS on Tuesday, if anyone is unsure where it is please let us know.

Farewell to another hall

Yes again we are on the move, we have moved venue more times then I have houses. Lets hope we can stay a little longer this time so remember ladies we have to be good at all times.
So next Tuesday we are at WVRS hall, South Street St Leonards, there is a car park at end of road and its free.
We have plenty of cupboard space so I will bring all our crafting bits even the bits that Jenny has lent us, so we will be well stocked.
The 3 Tuesdays which we are unable to have the hall we now have got others things to do 16/9 will craft at hall, 20/10 booze up at Wendy's no not really she is having a candle party, 8/12 we thought we would have our Christmas meal/booze up. So get your thinking caps on as to were you would like to go that night.
I have one last comment this is for the VETS of the crafting group ie JUDY and ROSE, next time you both sit and pamper a cat who is heavily pregnant can they at least make sure they have the right sex of the animal. As after talking to Jean this afternoon and saying we will miss the kittens being born she replied oh no not this one it's a TOM cat and he just eats to much, so thanks Rose and Judy that's another fine mess you got me into .

Crafting night

Well what a night Livi's birthday and didn't she do well with presents, and xmas stamping we were very busy beavers well apart from me I managed to stick two pieces of paper together. I think it was the disturbance of the cat, weather it would give birth there and then.
But luckily we had the Rose and Judy vets on hand. So when we return next week will there be kittens running around.
Had a drive round the new hall and for parking we will have no problem very quite round there, well we put a stop to that.

Taplin centre

Well first night at Taplin it wasn't to bad, still need to look for another hall so get those thinking caps on.
Dont forget next week I will bring christmas stamps, and Wendy get practicing stamping as your club needs you. I will also bring any card we have.
Oh yes Friday night photos turned out ok. So now we will have to start thinking about a christmas bash.

Off on my hols

Hi everyone,

Tuesday was a lovely evening - don't think many people did much crafting but I think we all had a good time. There was a lovely party atmosphere and thanks to everyone for bringing food etc to make Annette's birthday special. I am sure you will all join me in giving her our grateful thanks for all she does for the Club.

Well am off to Cornwall in the next day or so. I hope you settle in ok at the Taplin Centre and I'll see you all in a week or so.

Our last night

Well thank you for the nibbles you all brought and not forgetting all my cards and gift it was lovely. As usual more chatting was done then crafting but thats what Tuesdays are for, lets hope the new hall turns out as good. So dont forget Taplin center next week, I wont be bringing any of our stuff yet so if anything is needed write on the blog.

Tomorrow evening

Has anyone got a small cd player they could bring and any decent cd's? Would be nice to have a bit of a party on our last night.
